The Formula of Efficient Warehousing Logistics for Retail 3% of the purchase price of the goods for warehousing logistics – the first case when this figure has been reached in Russia by a commercial warehouse during its work with the retail segment. Relogix has presented a Business-Case dedicated to reducing logistics costs by means of efficient warehousing for retail at Business Retail Summit 2009 – one of the principal events of the retail market, which was held on 10-11 of September in the Congress-center of Evropeisky complex. The speech was presented by Relogix CEO Alexander Gutekulov and the company’s Operations Director Yuri Figurovsky. The Business-Case was based on the results of a successful association between Relogix and one of its clients from the retail segment (supermarket chain). Before carrying out the project the company stated the objective of making the costs as low as possible without sacrificing quality and the efficiency of operations. All in all, Relogix managed to achieve the result and substantially reduce the warehousing logistics costs. It took 4 months for the company to carry out the project. The speakers straightly told about the effective methods of attaining the goals set: “Jointly with our partner, who are a retail company, we have set the goal to lower the costs component down to 3% of the purchase price of the goods,” – says Yuri Figurovsky. “We have achieved this by virtue of the quality of the work of all the company’s departments: warehouse, IT-team, management, service departments”. The Business-Case participants willingly took part in the discussion, compared the figures presented with their own ones, specified the details, exchanges opinions and asked questions. “We are ready to modify the project for any market segment. Experienced workers and highly professional managerial staff together with a potent warehouse management system and IT-base are the key to achieve successful results, no matter how complex and sophisticated the project is,” concludes Yuri Figurovsky. The Summit was attended not only by chief executives of Retailers, Manufacturers and Global (P&G, Nestle, Motorola, Philips, Auchan), local and federal brands. Directors and Chiefs of financial and commercial departments as well as those who were merely interested in the Solution took part in the Summit. All in all, there were over 1 000 delegates representing 50 countries and Regions of Russia.
